It was a great day for the Academy! 🎉 Floor, Henk and Alex travelled to Driebergen for the annual meeting of the Dutch Association of Soap Manufacturers (NVZ – Schoon | Hygiënisch | Duurzaam ), Nederlandse Cosmetica Vereniging, and NAV – Nederlandse Aerosol Vereniging on Sustainable Packaging.

We would like to thank Wanda, Anne-Marth, Lisa, Marten, Chuchu, and all organizers for the informative presentations and the update on the state of play of PPWR and the need for practical circular roadmaps.
Our booth at the information market offered a fantastic opportunity to get in touch with other participants such as Jos and Susan van Aerosol Recycling Twente, Berend and Danielle van GPA Global | Packaging Solutions with innovative cardboard packaging, Joas on behalf of Houweling Group, ♻️ Siem of Partners for Innovation, and Ilona of Weener Plastics Group.

Some highlights of the day:
→ Inspectie Leefomgeving en Transport: What will be involved in inspections in the near future?
→ Verpact: Ambitious targets for 2030 with an explanation of the Plastic Guide, and tariff differentiation per kg; What does packaging have to look like to be recyclable? And how do we go to 100% fossil-free with 0% litter, packaging microplastics and damage to people and the environment?
→ FieldLab Circular Packaging: The importance of residue in recycling and where improvements can be made in design and sorting processes.
→ Kennisinstituut Duurzaam Verpakken (KIDV): The importance of strategy, vision and focus in the preparation to get things in order on time.

Our own session was also a success! Full house, sharp questions and inspiring discussions about collaboration and recycling within the industry. The question “why wouldn’t you do it?” resonated strongly thanks to exciting contributions from the audience. Thank you to our visitors!
